My friend Liam Shea's Short Story 'A Summer of Change' Hits Amazon's Shelves Dec 27th

Today is the last day for preorder to get my friend Liam Shea's short story 'A Summer of Change.' Tomorrow, December 27th, it is officially on the bookshelves for sale. Order your copy before the New Year. In the story something happens in January that changes little Richard's life forever. One would expect changes in the summer but not in January. Summers are where one changes from a sixth grader to a seventh grader. Summers are when one's very skin changes and gets darker from the sun. Summer is the time for change, not the dead of winter. The dead—that is the perfect word for it.

Just in Time for Christmas
Only moments ago I finished this poster for the upcoming Arts and Craft Fair which will be held at the Lubbock Garden and Arts center on University Ave. The date of the fair is December 6th and 7th. The short story A Christmas Season in Hell is a tale in the vein of Edger Allen Poe, as during one Christmas break, a professor falls through the floor of his office into a secret and sealed room. To top it off there us a corpse down there. From examining the objects in the room he manages to solve the mystery of the man's death before he is rescued. A fun read.
The Secret King is about a boy who is Jesus' childhood friend. This boy has his own story and after he survives the vengeance of The evil witch Hept, Queen Mother to the Pharaoh he eventually must come to terms with why the people call his friend the Messiah. A heat warming and griping tale set in the Bible days. Behind the story is a section of Christian Poetry.

Uncle Dan's Big Bible Scripture Coloring Book was a project of love and devotion for my own Sunday school class. At the time I did the illustrations I had no idea I would ever publish them. I drew them to go hand in hand with our church curriculum. After so many years of drawing and teaching I have assembled 79 of them into one book. Each illustration has the Bible Scripture reference printed on it to support the action  A real bargain for only $4.00 with a full color cover and black and white interior.

And, that brings us to the Land of Neither Here nor There. A tale about a land much like Narnia that exists behind the sealed doorways called edges. A fairy tale book for all ages.

It's Official... Uncle Dan's Big Bible Scripture Coloring Book is Available

Yes, dear friends and family. The long awaited arrival of my personally illustrated coloring book has made it to the Amazon book seller. It is now available for the purchase price of $3.99. It's the perfect stocking stuffer for your kid's Christmas. So, avoid the holiday rush and order their copies today.

Don't forget to order the Secret King too. It tells the story of an Egyptian family who arrived in Bethlehem under the bright light of a magnificent star. It's an intriguing viewpoint of a familiar story written for the YA market on a high school level. Add this one to you Christmas giving list.

Now I  have Illustrated the complete stories from Abraham through Moses, And I've put them in a paperback volume called "Uncle Dan's Big Bible Scripture Coloring Book." I can't express how excited I am to finally have all these available in print, and in time for Christmas, no less. Watch for it... Go to and enter the name Uncle Dan in the search bar. That is what the Sunday school children have called me for years. This is the perfect companion to any Children's Bible curriculum, and will provide hours of fun, educational enjoyment.

Mark Twain's take on adding facts into fiction

Most writers regard the truth as their most valuable possession, and therefore are most economical in its use.

The original Roller Burger...

I remember when I was very young, between 4 and 7, Mom and Dad taking us to this drive in. I still identify the flavor of that burger as the standard set for all other burgers.  This was the teenage rage place in 1960. My sister's favorite restaurant. It's the original Roller Burger: see Liam Shea's novel Midday's Starless Midnight chapter 2.

This sounds so very familiar

This sounds so very familiar (not in these exact words.) Got to have critics and editors, even if they drive us crazy.

This is where I write.

This is where I write. On some days I'll take my laptop out back and sit on the deck but this summer it was so hot I preferred the cool of the office.

You're seeing inside of my sound booth.

You're seeing inside of my sound booth. Okay, I know it doesn't look like much but it works. This is going to be great. Not just for me but for other authors who want to make an audio book too. It opens up a new market for me. Always, Onward and upward.
My first project is for Liam Shea. He's reading his novel "Midday's Starless Midnight." Sounds terrific.

Liam Shea has arranged a free e-book givaway on Amazon for his new novel

Hello to my friends in cyberspace,
I want to announce that my friend Liam Shea has just published his new novel 'Midday's Starless Midnight' and it is sensational. I give it 5 stars. It's funny, dramatic, and a bit irreverent. What else could you ask from entertainment. That's awesome enough, but to get his book kicked off right he's offering a couple free book days. This coming Monday and Tuesday will be free e-book days for his e-book version of "Midday's Starless Midnight."
This is not a mystery it is a work of alternative fiction. What's that you asked? Well, let me explain. A book is considered alternative fiction is when it is about an actual event but it is placed in a fictional timeline, all the characters are fictional, or/and the outcome is justified by fictional events. Sounds like a lot of fiction doesn't it. Liam Shea writes fiction that makes you go... hum, because it feels so real. Check it our for yourself. Look for it on Remember he is arranging with amazon for two free e-book days, Monday, September 16th and Friday, September 17th. It gets my golden star award.

I hear Dan-Dwayne is writing under a pen name for his new book. It's not mystery, it's alternative fiction (of sorts) and very funny. It's a story of misadventure and luck... or no luck as the case may be.
Check it out at under the author Liam Shea. It should be titled The Misfortunate Events of Donald and Margret but it's not... the title is Midday's Starless Midnight. As for the character named Harvard... well, let's just say he's complicated. He is handsome, irresistible, constantly lucky, and has a near genius intelligence. All the while you'll not know whether to like Harvard or hate him. Hopefully by the end you'll decide.

Still in the contest

I was pleased to hear from my sister yesterday. In June she entered one of my short stories in a contest. I barely met the deadline as it was but I consented that if I won it would be good publicity. Well, the first round of cut/ rejections were to be announced by August 20th. I'm pleased to announce that I wasn't in the those rejections. My story is still in the competition. Those eliminated from the next round will be announced in September. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. A few prayers wouldn't hurt either. Yes, there's a cash prize, but the recognition would be worth a ton.

Introducing a new writer, Liam Shea

I've been talking to some of my writer friends and they are advising me to keep my genera straight. Dan-Dwayne writes Young Adult Fiction mystery and adventure stories plus fairy tales for children.

If this new book Midday's Starless Midnight were turned into movie it would get an R rating because of the language. The character who is the leader of the motorcycle gang talks rough as so he should, I believe the audience would expect that. The book is also not really an adventure story but more of a quest. It is alternative or speculative fiction, certainly not mystery. Taking all this in consideration It will make a difference in how I believe my audience would see my other books.

J.K. Rowling writes fantasy under her own name and detective mystery under another. This is something professional writers have been doing whenever they change their writing genera. So, after taking all the counseling from my friends and looking at what other writers are doing when they change genera, I decided to publish this book under a pen name, a non de plume. So look for the works of Liam Shea on your amazon shelf. You might need to plug the name into the search as he is a new writer. LOL.

Coming Soon

Alright, it's almost ready.
Finally my new novel Midday's Starless Midnight has a release date.
It's premiering August 23rd. Can't wait? Me either!
Look for it in Paperback and E-Book on, but only after August 23rd.

This one is funnier, gritter, darker, lighter, more spine tingling drama, and more R rated than anything I've done before. If you are easily shocked then this is not the book for you. The kid's section is just a few clicks the other direction.  This one is definitely for the grown ups.

I'm so excited!

I'm getting prerelease critiques and comments from early readers for promotion purposes. If you want to be one of these early readers, please contact me at because I will have a limited number of paperbacks for selected beta readers.

This story starts when Michael and Alexis go to her home town, New Orleans, Louisiana, so that Michael can meet the parents of his dream girl. No one knows where the bullet came from or who pulled the trigger. Now, Alexis and Michael find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation, but they have an advantage the police don't have... they have Madame Boudreaux, a gifted spiritualist who talks to the dead.

Here I am at the AMA-CON

Here I am at the AMA-CON. For those of you who don't know what an AMA-CON is... Well, it is Amarillo 's version of a Comic-CON. There were voice actors and artist there from comic book companies. Some fantastic Cosplay by terrific people who were happy to explain their favorite characters and their take on the character. That brings me down to the authors who were there. I was one of about eight. Can you guess what costume I'm wearing? If you guessed, cranky elitist writer's costume then you get the cigar. The posters in the front are my own designs and I'm promoting Spies Lie and Spies Die, Premeditated Pandemonium, The Secret King, Pawns in Power of Kings, and The land of neither here nor there. If you missed the AMA-CON then you missed a terrific time. I got to meet some new friends and some fans who already knew about my books. Thanks for your support and well wished.
